Dominican Republic

Just returned home from Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. It was an incredible trip and I recommend it as a place to visit for anyone (families, singles, everyone!). The food and drinks were great and seeing Nate and Elisa tie the knot was outstanding. As beautiful as the resorts are inside, there is A LOT of poverty outside in the surrounding areas. I was lucky enough to hang out with some of the resort employees and explore beyond the resorts. Many people are just trying to make a dollar and live day to day. But even with all the struggle and hardship the Dominican spirit is beautiful. Everyone I met and hung out with was very hospitable, embracing and willing to engage in conversation which I LOVE!! I even got some chants of "Hasta La Victoria Siempre" after people saw my Che tattoo. I miss DR already! So until my next visit I'll have to drink some Presidente and just reminisce... Next stop: Medellin, Colombia 2009
